Today I read an article on my favorite color, Magenta.

Evidently, Magenta doesn’t exist because it has no wavelength, and the only reason we are able to see it, is because our brain doesn’t like having green between purple and red, so it substitutes a new thing.

Now I’m wondering how many more of my favorite things don’t actually exist.

Also, Pantone just announced that the Color of the Year is…Magenta.

So the Color of the Year is…Imagination?

I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of color.

Is my pink comforter still pink when the lights are out and I can’t see it as pink?

Does it cease being pink just because it’s not illuminated and obvious?

Here’s to all of us who have felt like we’ve existed primarily in the dark while retaining the properties of our true colors-the colors that have been there all along just waiting to be revealed-the colors that can only be seen in the light.
